# Introduction

**Votico** is a decentralized governance (DAO) protocol built on the Bitcoin network and designed as a core part of the **Asigna** ecosystem.

While Asigna provides multisignature vaults for securely managing Bitcoin-native assets across multiple participants, Votico extends this functionality by enabling decentralized decision-making. It allows asset holders to create proposals and vote on them using the same Bitcoin-based assets managed within Asigna.

Together, Asigna and Votico form a unified ecosystem where assets can be securely stored, managed, and governed on Bitcoin — combining multisig security with transparent, on-chain governance.
